Avalanche Canada presents a special screening of The Way Out, the latest ski film from Matchstick Productions. Known for their breathtaking cinematography, cutting-edge riding, and legendary storytelling, Matchstick’s 2026 release promises to deliver high-octane action, deep snow, and unforgettable moments from the world’s best skiers.
Matchstick Productions returns with their 34th annual ski film, The Way Out, a raw tribute to the timeless culture and lifestyle of skiing. Dropping you straight into heavy Alaskan spine lines, deep Japanese powder, and iconic Swiss villages. This film shows skiing as far more than a sport; it’s a path toward total freedom. From legendary veterans to rising breakout talent, the message is simple: the soul of skiing isn’t dead; it's waiting wherever snow falls.
Location: The Plaza Theatre, Calgary
The Plaza is all ages, so bring the kids if they are old enough to sit through a ski movie. Minors need an adult with them.

Known for their breathtaking cinematography, cutting-edge riding, and legendary storytelling, TGR's 2026 release promises to deliver high-octane action, deep snow, and unforgettable moments from the world's best skiers.
Actually, It Is Rocket Science is the newest chapter in TGR's ongoing study of the fall line. Featuring Bute Inlet, British Columbia; Haines, Alaska; Japan; Finland; Andorra; Montana; Jay Peak, Vermont; and Jackson Hole, Wyoming, the film follows the world's best skiers as they turn each mountain into a laboratory and every descent into an experiment. Athletes explore the intricacies of dissecting a big mountain line, the physics and amplitude of a massive gap, calculating transition, and the force of gravity. So, is it rocket science, or is it not? Watch closely and decide for yourself.
